Lumileds had a new corporate initiative and wanted to run an awareness campaign on collaborative efforts towards a green and sustainable workplace. For this campaign, BlueCube Media was engaged to create a 2D animation to introduce the initiative, as well as to encourage employees to participate.
For this project, a mascot was created to introduce the initiation. Named after an actual staff member of Lumileds, Ivy was the main protagonist of the video. She explains the importance and benefits of recycling, and also shows her colleagues how it is easy to contribute to this social movement in a few practical steps.
Another interesting point in this video was the scene of a canteen. The illustration for the canteen was actually done with close reference to the Lumiled’s very own office space. It was incorporated into the video to simulate a familiar environment so as to establish a sense of familiarity with the viewers. In preparation for a new product launch, our team was tasked to create a product brochure targeted at small and medium enterprises (SMEs). While brainstorming for an impactful cover tagline, we considered the three unique selling points (USPs) of the printer – secure, fast and affordable. As we wrote with SME professionals in mind, our intent was to have the target audience pick up the main advantages of the product at a glance. In the three options we provided, we took varying approaches to convey the USPs.
* A Ping for a Print – Connect, Secure, Fast & Affordable
o For professionals who are tech-savvy, we felt the word “ping” would resonate well with the hidden nuance of a fast connection. For readers who may find this ambiguous, we made sure to clarify by clearly indicating the main selling points of the officer printer solutions.
* Get the Job Done Faster & Focus on What Matters
o In this option, we wanted to bring across the importance of work efficiency; hence, we mentioned the printers’ capability of being able to print fast so businesses can truly focus on other aspects of their daily tasks that matter.
* Ready for Business. Print Fast, Print Safe.
o The final option shows product strength and aims to build assurance. The idea is simple. We wanted readers to know that the printers are ready to take on business requirements at fast speed but also in a safe environment.
In terms of design, we kept the overall layout simple, clean and professional. As the brochures are meant for SME professionals, we made sure information presented were specific and laid out the information distinctively to showcase the element of variety, as well as elite performance. Read More »

In celebration of design and innovation, Autodesk published both an ebook and hardcopy compilation of innovative projects by student participants of Autodesk Panorama 2017. In harmony with the tagline, "The Future Is Yours To Make", our team's main design objective was to create a fluid and transcendent gallery of inventive works; in particular, a gallery that is capable of showcasing and bringing across the uniqueness of each and every piece of students' works. Our inspiration for this publication was to keep pages simple, modern, and spotlight a central focus on each artwork. As such, to invoke "thinking out of the box", we removed boundaries that seemingly dictate fixed conventions. Out went the old, and in came the new! Epson took the opportunity to update and refresh their corporate handbook with a brand new look. As opposed to the previous handbook, which was dominated by solid colours of gray and blue, this time round, we decided to apply a spectrum of blue shades. Our design notion for this was to give the brochure a vibrant, modern yet corporate finish.
